I’m very excited to announce that as I take on more new mothers as clients for their maternity and newborn photos, I am also so proud to team up with another incredibly sweet and talented mom boss, Jenna Womack, as a hair and makeup artist that will be available for my clients to book as well. Jenna and I had so much fun pampering Jennifer for her in studio maternity session. My goal is to always make my clients feel comfortable and beautiful in front of my camera, so asking Jenna to help me achieve that goal seemed perfect.
I imaged the scene from The Notebook when Kari described how Jon proposed to her. They were on a row boat, leisurely making their way around the lake. She snapped a picture in good fun, and seconds later, Jon produced the ring that had been his mothers, and asked Kari to marry him right then and there.
Jon and Kari’s home was built over 100 years ago, just off of the square in Denton, Texas. In those 100 plus years, many memories have been made, including the life these two have started together. Upon discussing where we would take their engagement photos, I asked what their favorite thing to do together was. Both extremely busy professionals said their favorite part of the day was making it home to each other, I thought what better way to celebrate their engagement then to take a few photos at home.
Here’s Kari, telling me the story of their engagement and showing me the pictures from the trip. She was so cute telling the story I had to snap a quick picture of her!
Yes, this is Jon’s bike… with a sidecar. So cute, am I right?! *Eh-hem* I mean, super cool man.

It was like shooting an engagement session with a third wheel, or so that is what we dubbed this family session as we laughed our way through an afternoon. As a gift for their mom for Christmas, my friend Ashley coordinated a photography session with her sister, Jessica and brother, Lucas to have photos taken for their mom who hadn’t had updated professional photos of the kids in years.
I think the gift a photography session is one of the best, and before I’m labelled totally biased- hear me out! Often times, in the midst of the frenzy of life, those “I should really have pictures made this year” thoughts tend to get pushed aside by more pressing matters that arise on a day to day basis. The next thing you know – it’s 2016 and you’re left wondering “Where did the time go? …and why is Roman 4 all of a sudden?” I speak from experience. I urge you to take advantage of this advice. Make 2016 count, schedule a photo session for your family, gift the experience to your parent or spouse, and if you choose to, I’d love to be considered for the job.

I met Jillian and her mother at a Starbucks just 2 weeks before her wedding. Though we had been talking, texting and emailing for months, she was in for her last visit before her wedding and I was thrilled to be able to finally meet her in person. Her family had worked together along with Jillian and Kevin to work on wedding plans since they lived out of town, and the love and support for these two was palpable as I got to witness it unfold on their wedding day. These were my kind of people.
Their wedding was held at the Rose Chapel in Fort Worth, Texas. This historic location houses the most beautiful little chapel with an adjacent ballroom with windows filled with natural light that would take your breath away. After the ceremony and a mid day lunch reception, we had took some time to explore Fort Worth for an afternoon of just the two newlyweds to take some more gorgeous photos.
